France to host 1st ever Digital Africa Event

The month of May saw the French President Emmanuel Macron unveiling a fund of EUR65 million (US$76.14 million) dedicated to African startups.
He called on all African entrepreneurs from all countries to join this Digital Africa initiative and to join the platform,”
Digital Africa is a digital platform which aims to allow innovative entrepreneurs in Africa to find the resources and contacts necessary for their development, for the growth of their projects (non-profit and startups) and facilitate access to funding through and hosting relevant events.
According to reports by Business Report, Macron re-emphasized his belief in African innovation, and highlighted the Rwandan President, Paul Kagame, for investing in digital innovation – stating that innovation is “the best way to provide the solution made by, and for African people”.
The first event to be hosted under the Digital Africa banner has been announced.
Emerging Valley will be a three day event from November 19 -21 2018 which is dedicated to African entrepreneurship and innovation. The event aims to promote the Aix-Marseille region to Africa as a new business and startup hub linking Europe and Africa; it also hopes to attract new businesses with high-growth potential to the French region.
Fifty international speakers from 20 countries will gather for the summit whilst more than 60 startups will be involved.
