Bogolo Kenewendo is the youngest minister in Botswana's Parliament, a post which she came into earlier this year. Here are 8 things you probably didn't know about the 30 year old Minister of Investment Trade and Industry.
1. Bogolo Kenewendo is from the Motopi village in the Boteti area in Botswana.
2. Through nothing but sheer hard work and determination, Bogolo earned herself a 2012 Chevening Scholar to do her MSc in International Economics at University of Sussex. She also holds a BA in Economics from the University of Botswana and she is also a certified Project Management PRINCE 2 practitioner.
3. She is an alumni of several prestigious programmes including the Foreign and Commonwealth Office International Leaders Programme 2016 cohort designed to forge links and build cooperation with international leaders from around the world, A variation of the US President Obama’s YALI for Young Women Leaders 2011 cohort.
4. She was one of two youth delegates from Botswana commissioned to the 64th Session of the United Nations General Assembly. As part of this responsibility, she was nominated to present a statement on African youth to the Secretary General of the United Nations.

5. Her areas of expertise include: Macroeconomic policy, public debt management, trade policy, export development, trade in services, regulatory frameworks, trade related issues, trade and investment policy, industrial development policy, institutional frameworks for policy formulation, poverty alleviation, financial sector development.
6. Ms. Kenewendo was honored with the Ten Outstanding Young Persons (TOYP) award by JCI Botswana in 2012.
7. She and a friend formed Molaya Kgosi Women Empowerment which is a women leadership and mentorship programme .
8. She previously worked as a trade economist in the Ministry of Trade and Industry in Ghana and was previously employed as an economic consultant at Econsult Botswana.
